QUALIFYING EVENT FOR THE 1ST ANNUAL WORLD LATIN DANCE CUP!
When: Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 8:30pm
Where: Grand Ballroom at Ramada, Philadelphia Airport
Tech Rehearsal: Sunday, October 31st at 9:30 am
Who qualifies: Any Salsa Professional or anyone who is a part of a Semi-Professional or Professional Dance Company
Prizes: Trophies awarded to the top 3 couples in addition to the following prizes (note, if there are less then 8 couples entered, prize money will be reduced to 50%):
1st place-$2,000
2nd place-$1,000
3rd place-$500
4th place- $250
5th place-$150
6th place-$100
In addition to the prize money, the winning couple will be able to compete in the semi-finals in the division of their choice at the 1st Annual World Dance Cup held in San Diego Dec 10-14, 2010.

Details:
Competition is limited to the first 12 couples who register by September 15th.
A couple must consist of one male and one female
Routines must be between 1.30 minutes-2 minutes maximum including any special entrance and exit choreographed to the music of the couple's choice (danced in the final only)
May be danced On1 or On2
No more then 4 tricks/lifts are allowed where partner's both feet are off the floor, no limit on other tricks where at least one foot is on the floor.
All judges decisions are final
Costumes are required
80% of the routine must be Salsa
Tech rehearsal is optional but recommended
Music must be submitted to the SALSAFEST via email by September 30th
$75 Non-refundable Registration fee per couple, includes entry to the ballroom
Competitors may purchase Performer's Pass ($75) if interested
Format:
All 12 couples will dance a freestyle slow Salsa and a fast Salsa (music selection by the DJ) in 2 heats (6 couples at a time). So, everyone will dance twice in the semi-final.
Judges will select 6 couples to advance into the finals held the same night
6 couples will then perform their own routine to the music of their choice and the judges will award placements 1-6 based on that performance
Winners will be announced as soon as the results are available that same evening
